South Australian Railway & Australian National Perway Index
The Permanent Way or "Perway" drawings of SAR were contained in two areas. The first was a Perway "W" series that started in SAR and continued until the end of AN. This series was broken into different sections that is explained in the front of the index. The other drawings were listed in a Miscellaneous Perway Alphabetical index and covered drawings that were registered in the W series and the general Civil drawing series.
SAR Perway W Series Index
The South Australian Railways "W" series contained the SAR & AN specialised Perway drawings. It is the index to drawings like Switch Layouts, Sleeper Plates, Guard Rails, track bolts etc. These drawings are still used today for track work in South Australia.

The index cards for the SAR Perway section were scanned to produce this PDF. The cards are an alphabetical index that show the drawing numbers and descriptions for the track and other Perway equipment used by SAR and AN.
